Data Privacy laws and how your data is used.
One of the biggest changes to the UK data privacy law comes into effect on the 25th May 2018.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR for short) is a positive step towards having more control over how your data is used. I am sure you have noticed many cases in the news that big organisations have leaked or misused client’s personal data. This law has been introduced to protect your personal data and prevent the misuse of it. This is happening across the board and everyone carrying any information on you will ask your preferences on how you want to be contacted and by whom.
Here at College Dental Surgeries we have always had a very strict policy on how we use the information you have given us. We do not share your information with anyone unless we have your written permission. This includes your family members.
We understand your frustrations that we cannot tell you your husbands, wife or your children who are over the age of 13 appointment times so we have created a confidentially consent form. If you would like someone to contact us on your behalf to arrange or change your appointments. If you would prefer messages to be sent by email or you would like messages to be taken by an answerphone or a member of the household this is all covered on the consent form.
We are here to help you in all areas of your dental care including making or changing appointments as easy as possible for you and your family.
