Make 2018, the year of the selfie!

Recent studies have shown that 75% of people do not like smiling for the camera. A brighter, whiter, straighter smile can not only improve your confidence and self-esteem. It can also make you look younger and more attractive. A smile makeover takes into consideration your facial appearance, skin tone, hair colour, teeth (colour, width, length, shape and tooth display), gum tissue and lips to develop your ideal smile.

Our fully trained team of dentists at College Dental Surgeries will work closely with you to develop a treatment plan designed to achieve exactly what you want from your makeover. This treatment plan may consist of many cosmetic and functionally restorative procedures, potentially including teeth whitening, white fillings, veneers, dental crowns, orthodontics (braces) and dental implants.

Teeth Whitening

ima1Here at College Dental Surgeries we offer at home teeth whitening. This means that you can fit teeth whitening around your schedule and will not need to attend more than a couple appointments at the surgery. Teeth whitening is able to treat staining caused by food, drink, smoking and medications, this will over time build up again and so it may be necessary to top up your teeth whitening treatment every year or two.

Teeth Straightening

ima2Crooked teeth make many people feel self-conscious, reserved, or even ashamed of their appearance. Here at College Dental Surgeries we are able to offer CFast teeth straightening. CFast was originally developed by Dr Biju Krishnan in 2009 and is now being used by dentists across the world. CFast is a short term orthodontic treatment which focuses on straightening the front 6-8 teeth that are visible when we smile. It is possible to see results in as little as 8 weeks, with an average treatment time of 5 months. CFast uses clear brackets and tooth coloured nickel-titanium wires to make sure that the brace is as unobtrusive as possible and therefore minimises the effect on your day to day life.

Dental Implants

ima3Dr Spilker has a special interest in dental implants and has undertaken additional training on Dental Implantology. He always uses well researched and established dental implant suppliers and follows the highest quality surgery guidelines for the placement of dental implants.

A dental implant is used to replace a missing tooth by inserting a titanium screw into the bone and placing a dental crowns, bridge or denture over it, depending on the number of teeth to be replaced. The titanium screw fuses with the patient’s jaw bone and provides a solid base on which an appliance can be placed. We use enhanced imaging techniques where necessary to identify the suitability of the individual case and to plan the best treatment for the individual patient.
